Tıp ve Diş Hekimliği Öğrencileri Meslekler Arası Eğitimde Buluştu

The Interprofessional Education and Collaboration Protocol, signed between Aksaray University Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry on October 7, 2026, quickly came to fruition with its first concrete implementation. Within the scope of the protocol, a joint training session was held with the participation of Phase III students from both faculties.

Conducted by Assoc. Prof. Mehmet ÖZ from the Faculty of Medicine and Asst. Prof. Merve USLU from the Faculty of Dentistry, the training addressed the physiological basis of hemostasis, as well as dental examination, extraction, and treatment procedures in patients with bleeding disorders, from both medical and dental perspectives. In the shared classroom setting, students actively engaged in interprofessional knowledge exchange and collaborative clinical decision-making by discussing clinical cases together.

In alignment with the quality assurance approach of the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK), the event promoted student-centered learning, interprofessional collaboration, and a holistic patient care approach, while also laying the groundwork for joint research and development initiatives between the two faculties. By evaluating learning outcomes and student feedback, the initiative aims to monitor and continuously improve the implemented practices.

Starting with the swift implementation of the protocol, this collaboration is planned to expand further through joint educational activities and interdisciplinary scientific research in the coming period.
